Then and now

It all started with a revolutionary idea

In 1973, from a Mario Marangoni's idea, began the study of a new "cold" retreading system based on a precured tread ring for truck tyres.

Marangoni RTS (RingTread System)

After only one year of experiments on the prototype plant (made by Marangoni Meccanica), the production of this new product, called RINGTREAD, began in the plant opened in 1976 in Ferentino (Frosinone).

European expansion

In 1990, Mario Marangoni, aware of the considerable prospects of the company, decided that Ellerbrock GmbH (now Marangoni Retreading Systems Deutschland GmbH) should become part of our Group. However, the Eidelstedt establishment was not enough to hold the expected production expansion. Therefore, the construction of the new plant was set out in Henstendt-Ulzburg, and was concluded two years later.

South America

The Marangoni Group continues to implement its expansion strategy at a global level and, in 2002, takes an important step forward with the inauguration of Marangoni do Brasil, a plant to produce RINGTREAD precured rings and precured strips for retreading truck tyres.

North America

Marangoni Tread’s dynamic growth, driven by state-of-the-art technological products, leads to the inauguration, in 2003, of a new plant in Nashville, Tennessee, and the creation of Marangoni Tread North America.

A new plant in Argentina

The inauguration of a new manufacturing plant in Argentina, in the city of Alvear, Santa Fe, took place in 2013. This new plant brings the total number of sites operating around the world and featuring RINGTREAD lines to five, all part of the Marangoni Group division specialising in cold retreading.
